December 13, 2019 - Kevin “Buzzy” Adams Charts New Racing Course for 2020
Coming off another successful season of dirt track racing that saw him win eighteen feature events and two track championships, Kevin “Buzzy” Adams will further his racing career in a new direction in 2020.

The winner of five hundred and twenty three feature events in his twenty two year racing career on dirt that started in a Street Stock in 1997 and two hundred and seventy nine Modified main events alone, Adams will move to the high powered Late Model division in 2020.

The five time WISSOTA National Champion and winner of a record nine WISSOTA 100 victories, Adams will jump into a WISSOTA Late Model for the first time in 2020. He will race a Rocket XR1 chassis that he obtained from New Richmond Wisconsin's Pat Doar with a power plant from Todd Manley at Adams Automotive in Cameron Wisconsin.

“I've always wanted to race a Late Model before I hung my helmet up”, stated Adams, who started to cut back on his racing schedule in 2019 largely due to the fact that his two children are active in sports and have started their own racing careers running Go-Karts at area Kart tracks.

“I was at a point in my career where I either needed to retire or try something new. So we put together this deal with Pat Doar to go Late Model racing. It's going to be another busy Summer between running my own business(Buzz Signs and Graphix), youth sports, Karting and running my own racing operation, but I'm extremely excited to get started.”

Adams, who will turn forty on December seventeenth, plans to run a full schedule of Late Model events at area tracks and also race some WISSOTA Challenge Series races as well as other special events at time allows. “We will race as much as possible next Summer, but work will come first along with traveling with my kids to their events as well.”

While he didn't plan on running any Modified events initially in 2020, thanks to a business arrangement with his former Midwest Modified car owner, Adams will still be able to race some selected Modified events as well. “George Dalbeck has been a very important piece to my racing career the last couple of years, so I'm excited to be able to race his Modified also.”

Dalbeck, of Wakefield Michigan, who owned the Midwest Modifieds that Adams drove to twenty six feature wins in the last two years, has made the decision to add a Shaw Modified to his own personal fleet of race cars. Dalbeck, who will race as a Modified rookie in 2020, will share the ride with Adams so Kevin can enter some high profile Modified events also over the course of 2020. If fact, Adams will debut the car at the Winter Nationals at East Bay Raceway Park in Florida on January 20-25.

“None of this would be possible without the support of some great people around me including my wife Megan, my kids(Blake and Brooklyn), Mom and Dad, George Dalbeck, Todd Manley, Pat Doar, Chad Olsen and my pit crew.”
