2nd Place Finish in WISSOTA 100 at Dakota State Fair Speedway
Kevin and his team made the trek West to the annual WISSOTA 100, held at the Dakota State Fair Speedway in Huron, SD this past week and had an up and down week at the event Buzzy is a multi-time champion at. The event started Wednesday and Kevin did not finish his heat race, meaning he was done for the night. Thursday night, Kevin raced from 8th to 6th in a tough heat and then started 22nd in the night's main event, only to not finish for the second night in a row. Friday night, the team's luck turned around and Buzzy blasted from 7th to win his heat race and then started on the pole and dominated the night's main event for the victory, putting his #40 in the middle of the three-wide starting front row for Saturday night's $6,000 to win WISSOTA 100 Modified main event. Kevin raced inside the top five all event long, stealing the lead from early leader Danny Vang around the midpoint of the 30-lapper, only to have 7th starting Matt Gilbertson come along and battle with Kevin for the lead during the late stages of the event, settling Buzzy in for a second place finish when the checkered flag flew. Kevin also raced to a 4th place finish in the AFCO Race of Champions on Friday night.
