Adams Bags Four Top 10 Finishes in Winternationals at East Bay
Kevin got his 2019 season started with his annual trek to the East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, Florida for the opening week of the UMP Modified portion of the Winternationals.
After a couple test sessions early in the week, the action got underway officially on Wednesday night where Kevin set second fast time in his group, then raced from 3rd to 4th in his heat race before charging from his 17th starting spot in the night's 25-lap main event up to a solid 8th place finish on the opening night.
Thursday night, Kevin set fast time in his group, raced from 4th to 2nd in his heat race and then raced from 8th to third in the 30-lap main putting on show as he rode just inches from the outside wall throughout the entire event.
Friday night, Kevin again set fast time in his group, and fast time overall, then pulled the 4 for the heat race invert and raced from 4th to second in his heat, then from 7th to third in the 30-lapper, earning himself enough points to lock himself into the top 6 for championship night.
Saturday, Kevin was locked into the top six and didnt have to run a heat race, so after redrawing 5th for the 75-lap, $5,000 to win finale, he would race as high as second and as far back as 12th in the 66-minute affair. The ebs and flows of the final race of the weekend were wild as drivers would lead on lap and then be running fifth the next lap. The intensity was high and Kevin managed to stay out of trouble and round out his weekend with a sixth place finish for his efforts, wrapping up his Winternationals with four top ten finishes on the week.
