Adams kicks off 2023 at East Bay, scores a pair of runner-up finishes
Kevin made his annual trek to the sunshine state for Speedweeks, which kicked off with a shake down night at the North Florida Speedway in Lake City, Florida in which Kevin was able to qualify second in his group, run second in his heat race and then after running inside the top ten early in the feature, he retired early with a mechanical issue. After taking Sunday off, the team made their way to the East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL for the track's 5-night Winternationals event.
Tuesday night, Kevin qualified second in his group, won his heat race from the outside of the front row and then raced from 4th up to a solid runner up finish in the night's feature.
Wednesday, Kevin qualified first in his group, slipped to third in his heat race then won the b-main and stormed from his 17th starting spot on the grid to briefly take the lead before settling in for a runner up finish.
Thursday after qualifying P1 in his group again, he finished 2nd in his heat race and then came home 9th in the night's feature.
Friday, another first place qualifying effort assisted in winning his heat race from the pole and the after starting on the outside of the front row in the feature, he ended up stuffed in the turn one wall, ending his night early.
The finale on Saturday night saw Kevin redraw the 3rd starting spot for the feature and after running near the front for the first half of the race, he pitted to make adjustments and then ended up caught up in a crash late in the going, ending his night early.
